Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! The weather was absolutely beautiful here in Philly, so we had the chance to do a little exploring. Here is a quick re-cap of our weekend:
We ate an all-American dinner at Zac’s - yummy burgers, fries, and the best part = milkshakes.
Kyle met up with some guys in the Delco road runners club. They ran a little quicker pace than Kyle was anticipating, but he kept up. :) Jamie opted for a run at her own pace around town.
We decided to grab a quick bite to eat before our train at Lil’ Anthony’s. It was delicious, but not quick enough. We had to hustle and then run up the big hills to get to the train. We barely made it! Jamie wasn’t happy with Kyle for the necessary sprinting, since he was the one who had to make a pit-stop at the house on the way to the train. Kyle considered it “perfect timing.” :)
We took the train into 30th Street Station – the Union Station of Philly. We walked along the Schuylkill River Trail to get to the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The trail was buzzing with walkers, joggers, bikers, and roller-bladers. We even saw a roller-blade club take off on their Saturday morning skate.
Of course, our first priority at the museum was to find the Rocky statue. Then we climbed the famous steps and snapped many pictures of the beautiful architecture and scenery. We enjoyed trying out our new camera. We ventured into the museum and checked out a wide variety of art including the prints and sketches, American, modern and contemporary, and armor and weapons sections. We did not even come close to seeing everything. It was neat to see original art by people we had heard of like Picasso, Monet, Chagall, etc. Jamie’s favorite section was the Presidential china. They had plates that Presidents like George Washington and Abraham Lincoln used. Kyle really enjoyed the armor section. The museum is beautiful and HUGE, but we both decided art isn’t really our “thing.” We headed back to the train and relaxed the rest of the weekend – we were exhausted!

Our first adventure of 2012 is in the books! We had a lot of fun, and we hope y’all had a great weekend too!
