It’s only Monday, and I have accomplished my goals for the week! Mostly because I have a bit of a to-do list of things I want to get done ASAP in case our baby girl makes an early entrance.
For my photography goal this week, I read a book that Kyle got me as a graduation gift. It is written by a photographer/mom whose blog I follow very regularly called Mom*tog. I love her style of photography and that she posts samples of her work and the settings she uses as well as occasional tutorials and tips. The book is called The UNManual, and it is a beginner’s guide to using a DSLR camera in manual mode. I loved that it was short, sweet, and to-the-point, and she explains things in layman’s terms. A lot of it was review for me (in a good way), but I also learned a few new things that I can’t wait to try out. Overall, I recommend it to anyone wanting to an easy guide to learning how to use manual mode.
For my craft goal this week, I created a little something for my baby sister. She is seven, and like most seven-year-old girls she loves anything pink, sparkly, and princess-related. Therefore, I made her a tutu for playing dress-up complete with pink tulle, sparkles and Disney Princess ribbon. I hope she loves it! Here is a picture:
When I asked her what colors she wanted, she said pink and pink! This reminded me of one of my fav movies Steel Magnolias.
Truvy: What are your colors Shelby?
Shelby: Blush and Bashful.
M’Lynn: Her colors are pink and pink.
Shelby: My colors are blush and bashful. I have chosen two shades of pink, one is much deeper than the other.
M’Lynn: Oh how precious is this wedding going to get, I ask you? That sanctuary looks like it’s been hosed down with Pepto Bismol.
Love that movie! Hope everyone has a great week.
