Happy Monday! We had some beautiful weather here in Philly over the weekend. It is pretty exciting to see the 10-day forecast and not see any highs in the 90’s.
Our weekend started a little early last week with a visit from our friends Ryan and Mike. They arrived on Thursday evening, and although their visit was short, it was definitely a lot of fun! We headed into Philly Thursday night and made a quick stop at the usual historic sites. Everything was closed, but they got to see it at least. We decided to stop at Sonny’s Famous Steaks in Olde City. The boys then enjoyed some beverages at a couple of the local watering holes. We had a lot of fun and laughs catching up, and before we knew it, it was waaay past this girl’s bedtime. Friday, we had time for a quick stop at McDonald’s before dropping them at their bus to NYC. Thanks for visiting us, Ryan and Mike! Unfortunately, I only took a couple of crappy iPhone pics, but here they are:
Friday: Kyle and I were pretty pooped from our late night, so we had some pizza and relaxed.
Saturday: It was another day of relaxation for the most part. We did head over to the local YMCA to start our membership. I swam some laps while Kyle did a Crossfit workout. I think we are really going to enjoy it there! Saturday night we headed into town for a tasty dinner at Fellini’s Cafe. It was a beautiful night to sit on the back patio. After dinner, I kicked Kyle’s butt in a couple games of Scattegories.
Sunday: We were a bit more productive. We went to church and then brunch. We tried Ariano’s for the first time after learning the night before that it is Fellini’s sister restaurant and they have a wood-fired pizza oven that cooks pizza in 2-3 minutes at 800-1000 degrees. (Hence all of the wood-chopping out back when we sit on the back patio of Fellini’s for those of you who have witnessed that.) We both opted for the breakfast bacon, egg, and cheese pizza, which we should have shared because they were huge portions. They were quite fancy and tasty! (We were expecting Casey’s style for you Midwesterners.) We’ll definitely go back to try their regular pizza. After brunch we started a new little tradition for our wedding anniversary, which you’ll have to read about in my goals post this week.
It was a pretty low-key weekend, and we got a little antsy by Sunday night. We decided we are going to go see a new place next weekend (pending I’m still pregnant). We are considering Hershey, PA, Dover, DE, or Wilmington, DE. Don’t want to stray too far from the hospital just-in-case. Any recommendations? My vote is for the chocolate factory of course, but Kyle has been to Hershey a couple of times for work already. We shall see… stay tuned!
Have a great week!
